Welcome to AIFB 2026
Welcome to the International Conference on AI for Forensics and Biometrics (AIFB 2026). We are delighted to convene at the Indian Institute of Technology Dharwad for a flagship event focused on the intersection of artificial intelligence, forensic science, and biometric security where the core challenge is building trustworthy digital identity and reliable evidence in an increasingly adversarial world. AIFB 2026 serves as an international forum bringing together researchers, practitioners, and stakeholders from academia, industry, and public-sector agencies to advance biometric recognition, presentation attack detection, deepfake and media forensics, document and identity proofing, and AI-assisted investigation. The programme will also feature contributions on system and device integrity including hardware and IoT security where they directly impact the authenticity, provenance, and admissibility of forensic evidence and biometric data. Through keynotes, technical sessions, and discussions, AIFB 2026 will highlight state-of-the-art methods, rigorous evaluation practices, and real-world deployment challenges, including robustness, explainability, privacy, fairness, and responsible use. We invite you to join us in sharing research, building collaborations, and shaping the next generation of AI-enabled forensic and biometric technologies.
About Conference
AIFB 2026 is an international forum at the intersection of Artificial Intelligence, forensic science, and biometrics, focused on strengthening digital identity, evidence integrity, and trust in an increasingly adversarial world. Hosted at IIT Dharwad, the conference brings together researchers and practitioners from academia, industry, and law enforcement to advance the state of the art in biometric recognition, presentation attack detection, deepfake and media forensics, and AI-assisted investigation. AIFB 2026 highlights methodological advances and real-world deployments across the full forensic and identity pipeline, including robust and explainable models, evaluation protocols, privacy-preserving learning, bias and fairness, and secure system integration. We also welcome work that connects AI with platform and device security (for example, trusted sensing, tamper detection, and integrity of capture/processing pipelines) as it relates directly to forensic reliability and biometric assurance. The goal is to build a community that advances trustworthy, accountable, and ethically responsible AI for forensics and biometrics supporting safer digital ecosystems across financial, governmental, and societal applications.
